Hair Drug / Alcohol Testing

Hair drug testing and alcohol testing is growing in popularity every year. It is especially used for court and child custody cases as well as for pre-employment or random testing where employers are seeking a greater window of detection than can be provided from other sample types like Oral Fluid or Urine.

Hair samples are collected onsite by our trained and competent Authorised Technicians and then securely packaged and sent for NATA Certified Laboratory Analysis.

Depending on the type of testing requested, we can provide a detection period from one (1) month through to twelve (12) months, depending on the length of hair.

Because all of our hair sample drug testing is performed by Australian based laboratories and not sent overseas like some other providers we are able to provide results in a quicker turnaround time. We generally report negative results within six (6) business days from collection of the sample and for positive results within eight (8) business days from sample collection.

Does the detection period start from the day of the test?

No, we cut close to the scalp which means the detection period starts approximately seven days prior to the collection date. (Eg if the collection was conducted on the 10th of November, the detection period would be from approximately the 3rd of November)
